There can’t possibly be a more tempting case for MaxCare than this, can there?
That, my friends, is a 2007 M5 with a 500-horsepower V10 and a manual transmission, yours for the very reasonable price of $32,000 plus a few grand for MaxCare, which will surely pay for itself.

What is the exact quote for MaxCare?

Don’t tempt me. I’ve been planning on finding one of these in less than a few years to do exactly this.

Counter point: you can’t turn the traction control off in those.

Good point. Countercounterpoint: it’s not as though I’m going to track a 4,000 pound M5.

This is true, but sometimes you wanna find an empty parking lot and torture those tires.

I’m reasonably sure that this thing will happily destroy the tires regardless of ability to switch the nannies completely off.

I don’t know and I’m not going to undergo a credit check to find out, but I’m reasonably confident that no matter how much it costs, it would be worth it.

sm70 beat me to it, but I was going to say that with 500 hp and a manual I’m pretty sure trashing the tires would not be a challenge with or without traction control.

Is it in Spokane or down in OR?

That’s an epic combination right there.

How much is the warranty?

Don’t know, but worth it, whatever it is.

Pfft. You say that like you can’t find manual M5s on Auto trader all day long. Err...wait a minute...

The traction control on 6MT M6 I drove kicked in really easily, like wouldn't let the wheels spin at all.

Odd

More tempting case for warranty? Perhaps a V12 AMG, but I’m not about to go flipping through carmax listings to see if they have such a thing.

Tavarish’s posts should suggest things like this.

Ontario, CA. Which is (a) $400 to ship from and (b) practically walking distance from an airport that is $200 to fly to.

Oh yeah you can’t ship it home you gotta drive it home!

If you will go for it, I recommend as late model as possible. Warranty is nice though and the manual assures you of no SMG problems.

Call the Spokane WA store and ask some questions about maxcare. They will price it out for you no credit check required.

DO IT DO IT DO IT. And for goodness sake get the $0 deductible!

Why not? I plan on taking my M6 convertible (4400 pounds) to my local track once the weather gets a little cooler.
Only reason I haven’t yet is because I don’t want to push the car like that in AZ summers.

Well yeah, I’d probably go once or twice, but not frequently enough to be too bothered about whether or not I can turn the traction control all the way off. Mostly, I’d be doing my tire-murdering on onramps and mountain roads.

Haha yeah same here.

Just a note, the gas mileage is about 13 - 16 mpg in the real World on premium fuel. That’s taking it pretty easy by the way.
